Study Guide-Forward Instrument Panel Flashcards
What is the function of the 2 Landing Gear Control and Interface Unit (LGCIU)?
Provide sequencing, operation, monitoring, and indication for the landing gear.
What hydraulic system powers the landing gear and doors?
Green
What happens if your airspeed is 280 kts and you place the landing gear lever to DOWN?
Nothing. A safety valve shuts off hydraulic power to the landing gear system when airspeed is greater than 260 kts.
What controls and manages all braking functions?
The Brake and Steering Control Unit (BSCU)
What happens when you switch the A/SKID & N/W STRG to OFF?
3
-Lose NWS
-Braking is powered by the Yellow system
-Anti-skid is deactivated
Which hydraulic systems provide pressure to the brakes?
Normal brakes- Green
Alternate brakes-Yellow backed up by an accumulator
What is the takeoff setting for the Auto Brakes?
Max
What will cause the MAX AUTO BRK to activate on a RTO?
-Airspeed > 72 kts
-Thrust levers at idle
-Ground spoiler extension
How many applications are available with the accumulator pressure?
7
-What is the max brake temp for take off with fans off?
-Fans on?
-300 deg.
-150 deg.
What does the BRAKE & ACCU PRESS triple indicator indicate?
2
-Yellow hydraulic pressure to the L and R brakes.
-Yellow system brake accumulator
How do you accomplish the alternate brake check?
-Parking Brake OFF
-Step on both pedals and ensure proper resistance and deflection on triple indicator
-Release brake pedals
-NOTE: Place the PARKING BRK to ON. If required recharge the Yellow Accumulator by using the YELLOW HYD PUMP.
How do you perform the brake check during the initial taxi?
Press the brake pedals to ensure the aircraft slows, check the brake pressure in the triple indicator is zero, indicating the Green system has taken over.
