Stablization Flashcards
At what Alt should you be stabilized ?
Planned landing configuration by 1500 ft. AAL
When is an app considered stable @ 1k AAL (L F S R P C)
A. Landing configuration (L/G dwn, F flap SPB Arm.
B. Final approach path, lat & vert
C. Command speed -5 to +10 KIAS.
D. Rate of des (NOP)
E. Power setting is appropriate for the aircraft’s configuration.
F. Lnd C/L
Wt Are Stabilized app Add guidance:
“Prevailing conditions: Wind Change & turb altitudes shall be based on the LANDING ALTITUDE At 1,000 ft AAL PM shall call “
“STABLE/NOT STABLE”
” below 1,000ft AAL G/A announces a Go-around”
What are the Stabilized Approach Criteria Exceptions ?
Complying wt ATC Speed Planned target approach speed by 500 ft. AAL
< 4NM
Turn required for lateral alignment Wings LvL by 400 AAL or OMC
Arm Spd Brk < 1K max 500 AAL + ASR (Exceptional)
Lnding C/L < 1k max of 500 AAL (Exceptional)
When Manv below 1k be aware of:
Des Rate
Left/ R center Line (displacement)
Tail wind Xwind component
RWy lenght available
As the Airplane crosses Rwy threshold it should be:
App spd within +10 until arresting Stab Flt path
Make landing within 3k or 1st 3rd of Rwy
Landing Procedure - G/S from Above
Arm APP Set the MCP altitude 1000 feet AGL above touchdown Loc cap B4 des Select V/S mode (0) LND config (Grdn FPs 20)
Spb Brk control spd
V/S 2000 >2000
G/S capture set the missed approach altitude in the MCP
If G/S is not captured by 1,000 feet above touchdown or ALT engages at anytime, execute go-around
At 1000 feet AAL PM Calls?
“1000 STABLE” or “1000 NOT STABLE”
IAS Deviations - Below 1500’ AAL
“+10/-5 kts from bug speed “SPEED”
Rate of Descent >1000 ft.min Below 1K PM Call
“SINK RATE”
Pitch Attitude Deviation below 1500 AGL
+7.5 Nose Up
-2.5 Nose Down
-0.0 Nose Down below 1000 ft
“PITCH”
Bank Angle > 7° PM Call:
“BANK”
Localiser Excess Deviation Warning or 1 Doton the PFD
“LOCALIZER”
Glideslope Excess Deviation Warning or 1/2Dot on the PFD
