Q

Describe a volume/time curve

A

Volume (litres) along vertical
Time (seconds) along horizontal

Shows

TLC - breath in for total lung capacity
RV - exhale as fast as possible to residual volume
FVC - volume produced in vital capacity

Can be used to show post bronchodilator

Q

Describe a flow/volume plot

A

PEF at the top
Moves down by FEF25, 50, 75 - flow at point in which 25% etc. of total volume to be exhaled has been exhaled

FVC sits along the bottom
