Spinal Nerves Flashcards
Cervical plexus
phrenic, axillary, median, musculocutaneous, radial, ulnar
lumbar plexus
femoral, obturator
sacral plexus
common perineal (fibular), sciatic, tibial
phrenic nerve
travels through thoracic cavity; innervates diaphragm
axillary nerve
innervates deltoid and teres minor
sensory signals from superolateral arm
median nerve
innervates most anterior forearm, thenar (thumb), lateral two lumbricals;
sensory- palmar aspects and dorsal tips of lateral 3.5 digits
musculocutaneous nerve
innervates anterior arm- coracobrachialis, biceps brachia, and brachialis
sensory- lateral forearm
radial nerve
posterior arm- triceps brachia and anceneus, posterior forearm, brachioradialis
sensory- posterior arm and forearm, dorsal aspect of lateral 3 digits
ulnar nerve
anterior forearm and intrinsic hand
sensory- dorsal and palmar aspects of medial 1.5 digits
femoral nerve
anterior thigh
anterior and interomedial thigh, medial leg and foot
obturator nerve
medial thigh
superomedial thigh
common perineal (fibular) nerve
short head of biceps femurs, branches to deep and superficial fibular- anterior and lateral leg and dorsum of foot
dorsum of foot
sciatic nerve
same as tibial and common fibular nerves
tibial nerve
posterior thigh and leg, plantar foot
plantar surface
