A bone pivots around it’s own longitudinal axis
Circumduction
Continuous movement combines flexion, abduction, extension, and adduction in succession
Distal end moves in a circle proximal stays still
Pronation
Rotation of the forearm where the palm is turned posteriorly
Supination
Rotation of the forearm in which palm is turned anteriorly
Inversion
Twisting motion of foot that turns sole medially or inward
Eversion
Twisting motion of foot that turns sole laterally or outward
Retraction
Posterior movement of a body part from anatomic position
Depression
Movement of a body part inferiorly
Protraction
Anterior movement of a body part from anatomic position
