signs:
corticospinal and dorsal tracts affected bilaterally
rombergs test positive
management:
B12 injections
haematological picture can still be normal
Syringomelia
signs:
bilateral spastic paralysis
bilateral loss of spinothalamic tract in neck, shoulders, arms area
Dorsal spared
management:
shunt
associated with Arnold chain malformation
anterior spinal artery occlusion
signs:
bilateral spastic paralyisis
bilateral loss of spinothalamic column
hypotension
Friedrich’s Ataxia
same as subacute combined degeneration of cord but other manifestations
