Impairment
A limitation felt by a person resulting from a disability that causes the person to feel inadequate within the range of normal performance
Handicap
One that occurs genetically or during the development period of the child (birth-age 18-22)
Developmental disabilities
Occurs after the age of 18-23 or caused by a disease, trauma or injury to the body
Acquired disabilities
Typically over age 65
