Mi’kmaq - they had 7 districts and each district had a council of elders. each district chose leaders and was advised by the council of elders to respect the grand council
Anishinabe - they had dodems and plans for the cranes and the loomed provided leadership to their people
Haudenosaunee - all nations had their own council to decide on local situations and they all followed the great law of peace
How does geography affect culture and give 2 examples
M- lived near the ocean and they would eat salt water fish and sea mammals because they lived by the ocean + had wide flat bottom canoes
A- had fast river and lived near great lakes, needed long narrow canoes, ate fresh water fish and wild rice, had to move within seasons
H- because they lived on good soil and farmland they became farmers and could live in the same spot for many years
