Agility

A

The ability to change direction quickly, with control.

E.g a football player needs agility so they can change direction quickly to beat their opponent.

Balance

A

The ability to keep the body still while moving. Two types of balance:
Static balance-where you keep the body stable while stationery e.g doing a handstand
Dynamic balance-Maintaining a controlled stable position while moving e.g hammer throwing.

Co-ordination

A

The ability to use two or more body parts at the same time.

A tennis player needs coordination so they can move their arms and legs together to hit the ball.

Power

A

The ability to do strength performance quickly (strength × speed).

A 100m runner needs power drive out of the blocks
as they need the strength to push off from the blocks and speed to correspond by making their movement quicker.

Reaction time

A

The time between the presentation of a stimulus and the onset of movement.
A batsman in cricket needs reaction time to hit the cricket ball which is traveling at a fast speed to enable him to not go
our and for the ball not to hit his stumps.

Speed

A

The rate at which an individual can perform a movement or cover a distance.
A footballer needs good speed as if they are a wing back for example they will need to the speed to travel forward at their opponent like when their is a counter attack on or defending where they are covering a distance to track their opponent.
