Cardiovascular fitness

A

The ability to exercise your whole body for a long period of time.

You would need cv fitness in sports that contain high intensity for a long period of time . Such as football to last the full 90 minutes or a marathon runner.

Muscular strength

A

The amount of force a muscle can exert against a resistance.

You would use MS for any sport that you need to exert a force. Such as weight lifting where you are lifting heavy weights or rugby where you are handing off a player or in the scrum.

Muscular endurance

A

The ability to use voluntary muscles repeatedly without getting tired.

ME allows you to exercise your muscles without getting tired. ME is needed for many sports including middle distance running or swimming. Or sports like tennis where your muscles are constantly working hard throughout.

Flexibilty

A

The range of motion of your joints.

You need flexibility in every sport but it is more specifics to some. Such as gymnastics or diving. However you may need it in sports such as badminton to stretch or reach to the shuttlecock.

Body composition

A

The percentage of body weight that is muscle,fat or bone.

Fat percentage varies from person to person. Keeping a healthy percentage is important as it can help protect from diseases like diabetes. So heavy rugby players would be more effective in the scrum.

A

The most common and easiest way to get your body composition is by calculating your BMI. BMI is calculated by taking your weight in kg and dividing it by your height in m squared.
