Soc 9- Long Term Effects Of Exercise Flashcards
What are the three main areas of the cardio respritory system
Heart, lungs, blood
Long term effects of adaptation
Your body’s response to training will improve
aerobic training
Working at a moderate intesity level with oxygen
Anaerobic training
Working at high intesity without oxygen
Alveoli
Tiny sacs that allow oxygen to get through lungs and blood stream
Diaphragm
The primary muscle used in the process of inhaling
Cardiac output
The amout of blood ejected from the heart
Resting stroke volume
The amount of blood pumped per beat
Recovery rate
The rate at which your heart returns to resting heart rate after excersise
What are the muscles around the lungs and heart
Intercostal
Effects on lungs
Lung capacity, strength of diaphragm and external intercostal muscles
Effects on respiritory system
Improved fitness, increased number of capillaries in your muscles, increased number of red blood cells, drop in restojg heart rate
Effects on heart
Size and strength of heart, increased resting stroke volume, maximum cardiac output, decreased resting heart, faster recovery rate
