(Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire)
Why to preform a warm up
Prepare the muscles, prepare the joints, prepare the mind, prevent injury, prepare the ligament, prepare the CVF system
Warm up
CVF, streching, sports specific
Warm up (CVF phase)
The CVF Zoom up and take various forms depending on the main activity (10-15 mins)
Warm up (streching phase)
Static - easy, on the spot streching without straining.
Dynamic - streches that use movements specific to a sport, gradually increasing your reach and speed.
Warm up (sport specific phase)
Sprint starts
Practice throws
Take off for pole vaultres
Throwing, catching and batting for cricket
Catching crosses, shot stopping for goalkeepers
Cool Down
The cool down takes 5-10 mins to return heart to resting.
Setting SMART goals
specific, Measurable, achieve, relistic, time bound
Specific
Means exactly knowing what the goal is. It may include a series of step towards the overall goal.
Measurable
Means it will be easy to know when goals are achieved
Achievable
Goals must be attainable
Relistic
A goal may be achievable in practice, but are there other reasons that may hinder the completion of that goal
Time bound
Does the goal have an end ?
