Continuos training
Is working the entire body for long period of time (CVF)
Fartlek
A method of training for runners where the terrain and speed constantly changing.
Circuit
A series of exercies completed for a certain amount of time/reps after one another.
Interval
Is physical training involing alternat states of high and low intensity activity.
Weight
Involves shifting weight to increase the strength of the muscle using a programme of exercise
Plyometrics
Exercises where muscles use maximum force in short intervals of time
Continuous
Advantages :
improves CVF
Inexpensive
Disadvantges :
Does not improve anaerobic fitness
Some people find it boring

Can include hill work, both uphill and down

Circuit
Advantages:
A good source of all round fitness
Can include both aerobic and anaerobic exercises
Interval
Advantages :
Included a rest period
Includes repeated sprints
Plyometrics
Advantage :
Improves explosive fitness
Exercises can be designed for a specific performance
Disadvantges :
Need knowledge of your event
Need to progress gradually, as a rest and reckvery are importanta
Weight
Advantages :
Wide varitey of exercise
Easy to monitor progress and overload
Disadvantages :
Needs suitable facilites and equipment
Need knowledge of saftey and technique
Aerobics
Mainly a Rubik exercise. To music covering a variety of exercises
COF : CVF, strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, body composition
Body pump
Exercise normally use in lieu weeks with many reps and variety of exercises
COF : CVF, muscular endurance, strength flexibility, body compistion tone in the body
Pilates
A series of core stability exercises focusing on the quality of the exercise and focus on correct breathing relaxation and stress
