Reduces blood pressure,reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease(CHD and stroke),heart increases in size,thickness and strength,the chamber volumes increases
Body composition
Weight control, playing sport expands energy (calories) allows you to lose weight
Muscular strength and endurance
This can increase muscular strength, bone density and bone mass which can help in later years of life to prevent oesteoporosis which is when your bones become more brittle
Other health benefits
The healthier someone is and the fitter they are gives them a better chance of being able to fight off illness not just cold and flue but more seeious illnesses like a heart attack or stroke which gives you a longer and better life
Feeling good
People take part in exercise to feel good and when you exercise your body produces serotonin which is the chemical your body realises that makes you feel good
Realiving stress and tension
Taking part in physical activity can help with taking our mind away from our problems at home, work or school etc. Our bodies produce endorphins and serotonin which helps us feel good and can help with the problem.
Increasing self-esteem and confidence
Many activities provide a physical challenge and when a challenge is overcome which gives us a sense of achievement which can boost self-esteem and confidence
For an emotional/physcological challenge
Not just to physically challenge you but to know you have overcome something or try to overcome something can be a mental challenge itself
For aestetic apperence
To have a good physical apperence helps you feel good because of modern social beliefs
For enjoyment
People get enjoy being in a team and being successful and being able to play with other people as a passion
Co-operation
Many sports you need to work with people and they may be older or younger and you may like or disloke them but by co-operating through sport it helps you gain a skill for everyday life
Developing friendship and social skills
By doing sports which envolve other people it helps to gain friendhsips and bonds which can be taken outside of the sport
Having a good attitude to compete
When you play sport often enough you will come up against other teams and by doing this it helps you in growing your social skills to be able to have respect and sportsmanship additionally it can be a set challenge to see how you deal with wins and defeats and failures and set backs
