-SLE because it can affect any organ of the body so it may have any manifestation
What are the different grades of severity of SLE and how does it progress?
Mild- Discoid lupus erhythematosus
-plaque like lesions, red swollen patches, de pigmentation and plugged hair follicles
Sub-acute cutaneous lupus erhythematosus: resembles psoriasis, affects face chest upp back and arms, mm and joint pain, nephritis
SLE- non specific complaints
Malar rash is associated with whih condition?
SLE
How can SLE resemble psoriasis and why can this be dangerous?
SLE can resemble psoriasis. SLE has photosensitivity. Psoriasis tx is more sunlight.
What are some target organs that can be affected with SLE?
-kidneys
What cultures are most likely to get SLE?
African, Chinese, Japanese
Name some of the symptoms of SLE and how many must be present at minimum for a diagnosis?
At least 4 of these:
- non erosive polyarthralgia with effusion
- Malar rash
- photosensitivity
- pleuritis, pericarditis
- anemia
