Explain the manifestations of localized scleroderma.
Localized- usually young onset, may stunt growth
- white or pink oval patches, bands, lines
- no blood manifestations
What gender is more affected by scleroderma?
Women
What does crest stand for?
Calcinosis- tiny calcium deposits
Raynaud’s
Esophageal dysmotility- poor function of lower 2/3 of esophagus. Heart burn, inflamm, dysphagia
Sclerodactyly- shiny puffy appearance
Telangiectasia- tiny red blotches from dilated capillaries
With diffuse, one of the big problems is malignant hypertension or congestive heart failure.

Rapidly progressive, debilatating, renal and pulmonary involvement, skin lesions on trunk *** hallmark of this type, malignant hypertension and congestive heart failure, death within a few years
Abdominal issues- gas, constipation, diarrhea, etc
