What is arousal
Increased level of excitement and alertness
What is the inverted u theory
A āUā which shows where the best level of arousal is
Bottom of the U will be under arousal which will make you not focused enough
Middle of the U will be perfect arousal allowing you to perform well
The other bottom of the U is over arousal causing you to be less concentrated making more mistakes
How does optimal arousal vary for skills
If you are about to fight someone you will require a higher optimal arousal you to get you in the zone
If you are about to shoot something in archery the optimal arousal will be decreased to help you focus
