What is meant by health
Complete physical, mental and social well being, not just the absence of disease
What is physical well being
Being well in the body and free from injuries or illness
What is mental health and well being
Able to cope with stress
able to control emotions
and having a good self esteem
What is social well being
Positive sense of involvement with family, friends and others in the community
What is the definition of fitness
Being able to cope with demands of environment
How is fitness decreased
Being unable to train due to ill health lowering the overall fitness
How is fitness increased
Despite being ill you area still able to train increasing overall fitness
Function of carbonhydrates
Provide body with fuel needed for physical activity and function of organs
Function of fats
Supply high concentrated source of energy that can store in body for late use
How does the body use food sources to provide energy
Glucose is converted into glycogen and stored in muscles
Muscle cells release energy from glucose in respiration

What is the test for cardiovascular endurance
Cooper test
12 minutes where you run for as long as you can and record the distance.
Other test for cardio vascular endurance test
Multi stage fitness test
2 lines drawn between 20 metres and continuers shuttle runs
Have to reach the other end before the bleep. time of bleep decreases as the test progresses
3 missed bleeps and your level is established
What is the test for flexibility
Sit and reach test
Sit with legs fully extended against a box, Keeping ur legs straight slide your hands across the box (Not jerking).
Test for muscular endurance
Multi stage abdominal test
Performing as many sit ups you can in 30 seconds
Test for power
Vertical jump test
Facing a wall extend both arms upward as far as you can and mark against a wall. Jump as high as you can and touch the wall and distance measure is from standing height to jump height
Test for speed
30 m sprint
Run as fast as you can in 30 metres
Test for strength
One rep max test
Weight a person can lift for one repetion
another test for strength
Hand grip dynamometer
Gripping a dynamometer as hard as you can and measurement shown on the display. repeat 3 times
Test for agility
Illinois agility test
Starting lying facedown with chin on the starting line. on the command “Go” get up and run as fast as you can through the course.
Test for balance
Stork stand test
One leg down whilst other leg placed on the inside of the knee. Timing starts once you close your eyes and ends when you lose balance or your foot come off the inside of knee
Test for coordination
Anderson wall toss test
Standing 2m from a wall you toss a ball underarm to the wall with one hand and catch with another. Total is number of catches made in 30 seconds
test for reaction
Metre ruler drop test
stand with your thumb alongside a ruler. another person drops the ruler and you have to catch the ruler with thumb and index finger.
