What is support?
Bones solid and rigid
Skeleton supports body in variety of positions
Keeps muscles and organs in place
What is protection?
Cranium = brain
Vertebrael column = spinal chord
Ribs = heart lungs liver
What is movement?
Fine movement = flicking wrist in badminton
Coarse movement = throwing ball
What is structural shape and points for attachment ?
Endomorph = long leg bones and larger vertebrae
Mesomorph = anchorage points for muscles to attach to so when they contract they move
What is mineral storage?
Bones store minerals such as calcium and phosphorus for bone strength
Release into blood when needed
What is blood cell production?
Red blood cells = provide oxygen to working muscles
White blood cells = fight off infection to stay healthy
