+ burns fat quickly
Altered to suit athlete
Quick
Develop aerobic/anaerobic system
- extreme work lead to injury
Lots of motivation needed
Can cause dizziness/nausea
What is continuous training ?
Exercising for sustained period of time without rest improves cardiovascular endurance/steady state training
What are the disadvantages and advantages of continuous training ?
+ no equipment
Aerobic fitness
Do anywhere
Simple to do
- boring
Injury
Time consuming
Not match the demands of sport
What is circuit training ?
A series of exercises performed one after the other with a rest invetween
What are the disadvantages and advantages of circuit training ?
+ exercises simple/complex
Varied to suit individual
Easy to monitor/progressive overload
- needs space
Equipment
What is Fartlek training ?
Usd to improve cardiovascular endurance varied as speed intensities are varied
What are the disadvantages and advantages of fartlek training ?
+ easy to set up
No equipment
Aerobic and anaerobic
- needs space
Injury if don’t warm up properly
What is plyometric training ?
