Respiratory depression, N&V, sedation, dizziness, pruritis, orthostatic hypotension, constipation, convulsions, cardiac arrest.
BLACK BOX WARNING
Opioid Analgesics/ Agonist (narcotics)
Loss of analgesia, dramatic. Increased HR, tremors, sweating, N&V, HTN, dysrhythmia, seizures
Narcotic antagonist
Tingling, nasal discomfort, dizziness, vertigo, tremors, serotonin syndrome, arrhythmias
Triptan
- GI irritation (GI ulcer potential w/ chronic use
- tinnitus, prolong blood clotting time, bronchospasm, hives
- Reyes Syndrome (not used in kids under 12 y/o; contraindicated for kids under 19 y/o w/ chicken pox or flu-like sxs)
BLACK BOX WARNING
Salicylates
-GI irritation/ulcer potential w/ chronic use
- prolongs time for blood to clot
- SJS, renal failure

NSAIDS (ibuprofen + ketorolac)
HTN, GI sxs, increased liver enzymes

Rash, blisters, liver injury
