Inoperative CC jump seat

How to disconnect slide raft
- Lift up flap
- Pull disconnect handle
- Cut static line with knife
Function of Heaving line/ring
- Thrown to survivor in water and pulled to bring them to slide raft
- Approximately 100 feet long
- One end is welded to the slide raft
- Other end is wrapped around a small rubber ring
- The ring makes it easier to throw long distances
- Should be used to tie the raft together (at least 20 feet apart)
Pre flight check for lavatory smoke detector

TREATMENT
- Attend immediately
- Reassure and calm casualty
- Remove casualty to a least observed place

Heat stroke
SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS
- Hot, dry skin
- High body temperature
- Rapid pulse and breathing
- Nausea and vomitting
- Possible loss of consciousness
- Seizures
TREATMENT
- Move casualty to cooler place
- Cool casualty by sponging repeatedly with cool water or apply cold packs until body temperature is down then dry
- Fan with magazine or newspaper
- If temperature high again, begin cooling process
- Nothing by mouth unless conscious

When to stop CPR
- The casualty is revived
- You are relieved by Medical Professional
- You are too exhausted to continue

- The scene become unsafe (heavy turbulence, landing)
- Person is presumed dead if CPR is continued for 30 minutes and have no signs of life, no shocks advised by AED
Asthma
SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS
- Wheezing breathing sound
- Difficult in speaking/whispering
- Produce thick sputum
- Blue/cyanosis
- Distress and anxiety
- Coughing
TREATMENT
- DRCABD
- Loosen tight clothing
- Give airsickness bad to spit sputum
- Sit up leaning forward
- Administer oxygen
- If EASY BREATHER available, commence inhalation
Food poisoning
- Charcoal tablet from DFAK
- Take lots of fluid e.g. water or tea
Indirect pressure point
- ARM (Brachial artery)
- LEG (Femoral artery) (DO NOT apply indirect pressure more than 10 minutes)
Open fracture
- DO NOT move casualty unless necessary
- Reassure
- Immobilise fracture with splint/ elevated sling
- Apply ring pad over protruding bone
- Treat for shock
- Send to hospital ASAP
First degree burn
- Cool with water 15 minutes
- Apply bacidin cream from DFAK
- Apply dry sterile dressing lossely
Nose bleed
- Sit casualty leaning forward
- Pinch soft fleshy part of nose for 5-10 mins and release
- DO NOT blow nose
- DO NOT apply cold compress
- Monitor
- Prolonged nosebleed 30 mins above should be sent for medical aid
Sprain
- R ( Rest the injured part)
- I (Ice/Cold compress)
- C (Compress/bandage injured part)
- E (Elevate the injured part)
