AI is improving to the point where it will assist in gathering and manipulating data at production facilities and hospitals to enhance productivity and make sure that workers are focusing on things that best suit them and leave dangerous and less important tasks to AI. The AI trust is focusing on making AI more ethical and neural networks are being enhanced so that AI can tackle more and more complex problems for all of this to happen. The US needs to donate more money if it wants to stay on top in research.

The government is using automated surveillance cameras to analyze which drivers are committing offenses by using their phones, and/or texting when driving. AI will report offenders and people will monitor whether it is correct or not. Amazon and other companies have been using this service to monitor consumer activity in neighborhoods and stores to eye shoplifters and VIP customers and the goverment in varoius countries have been using this to spot foul activity among citizens. A controversy arises whether this will cause people to feel as though they are constantly being watched, judged and in a repressive society controlled by an authoritarian power.

Facebook has developed a new chatbot called liambot which uses AI to answer difficult questions employees maybe asked about the company and gives these answers to employees so they can mimick the same answers when questioned about the ethical status of their company by their relatives. A concern is growing on whether facebook is simply using technology to try and clean up it’s mess and turning employees into robot mouthpieces to do so.

Article explains that an algorithm known as optum acted as a service to falsely report that wealthier white americans needed more health care support than poorer black americans. The reason for this is because the algorithm ranked hospital visitors who spent the most money on health care as the sickest patients while in reality these patients simply had more money, more access to healthcare and were taking advantage of that privledge.
