Breast cancer screening
Every 2 years, starting at 50-74, free mammogram
Women aged 40-49 and those aged over 74 can also be screened for free of change- but can lead to overdiagnosis
When should annual screening be done for breast cancer at age 40-49 be done
If they have a 1st-degree relative <50 years of age diagnosed with breast cancer
Cancer Australia recommends considering annual mammogram from 40 years of age if the woman has 1st-degree relative <50 years of age diagnosed with breast cancer
Who is a high risk of melanoma-2
Previous history of melanoma
>5 atypical(dysplastic) naevi
High risk of melanoma what is the frequency
Every 6-12 months
An ideal screening test should be
Simple to apply Cheap Easy to perform Easy and unambiguous to interpret Identifying those with the diseases and excluding those without the disease
