What is scleritis?
A
Full thickness inflammation of the sclera

What are risk factors for scleritis?
A
- Rheumatoid Arthritis
- SLE
- Sarcoidosis
- Granulomatosis with polyangiitis

How does scleritis present?
A
- Red eye
- Painful (contrast to episcleritis)
- Watery eye
- Photophobia
- Gradual decrease in vision

How is scleritis managed?
A
- Same day assessment by ophthalmologist
- First line: Oral NSAIDs
- Oral glucocorticoids can be used
- Immunosuppressants for resistant cases
