  • Chronic blepharitis
  • Seborrhoeic dermatitis
  • Rosacea
  • Pregnancy
  • Diabetes
  • Hypercholesterolaemia

How does chalazion present?

A
  • Firm, painless eyelid swelling which develops over weeks
  • More common on upper eyelid
  • Granuloma seen when eyelid is everted
  • No changes to vision unless severe

What is the treatment for chalazion?

A
  • Hot compresses and analgesia
  • Refer if does not improve/resolve after 4 weeks
  • Manage risk factors
