full thickness inflammation of the sclera
not typically due to infection but linked to inflammatory diseases

A
Severe pain and with eye movement
Reduced visual acuity
Photophobia
Abnormal pupil reaction to light
Eye watering
Tenderness to palpation of the eye

what is the most severe type of scleritis
A
necrotising scleritis
may not have pain
risk of perforation of the sclera

management of scleritis
A
same day referral to ophthalmology
topical/ systemic NSAIDs and Steroids
immunosuppression for underlying disease
