Delusional Disorder
DURATION 1 MONTH OR LONGER; 1 or more delusions; specify types, i/e erotomanic.
Brief Psychotic D/O
DURATION AT LEAST 1 DAY BUT LESS THAN 1 MONTH; one or more Delusions/Hallucinations/Disorganized speech (optional Gross disorganized or catatonic bx - this cannot be the sole symptom).
Schizophreniform d/o
2 OR MORE Psychotic Symptoms present for at least 1 month in duration (unless treated); EPISODE DURATION LASTS AT LEAST 1 MONTH BUT LESS THAN 6 MONTHS.
Schizophrenia
MUST HAVE 2 OR MORE DELUSIONS/HALLUCINATIONS /DISORGANIZED SPEECH (MAY HAVE DISORGANIZED BX OR CATATONIA/ NEGATIVE SYMPTOMS; CONTINUOUS SIGNS OF THE DISTURBANCE MUST PERSIST FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS.
Schizoaffective d/o
Uninterrupted period of illness with a major mood disorder (major depressive or manic) concurrent with Criterion A for Schizophrenia(2 or more psychotic symptoms for a 1 month period; at least one must be hallucinations / delusions / disorganized speech) + Delusions or hallucinations for 2 or more weeks in the absence of major mood episode. Specify Bipolar type (this must have mania, can have depression) vs. Depressive type (depression only).; specify w/ catatonia.
Catatonia
Due to a mental d/o or medical condition; presence of 3 or more (out of 12) psychomotor features (Stupor, Catalepsy, waxy flexibility, mutism, negativisim, posturing, mannerism, stereotypy, agitation, grimacing, echolalia, echopraxia.
Catatonia associated with another mental d/o (catatonia specifier)
NO DURATION; 3 or more psychomotor SXs, specify it as linked to a d/o (such as Bipolar).
Catatonic disorder due to another medical condition
NO DURATION; 3 or more psychomotor Sxs; specify it as linked to a conditions (such as hepatic encephalopthy).
Substance/medication-induced psychotic d/o
NO DURATION; presence of delusions and or hallucinations with obvious link to medication or substance use (during or soon after substance intoxication or withdrawal)
Psychotic d/o due to another medical condition
NO DURATION; prominent hallucinations of delusions - strong link to medical condition.
