Dysruptive Mood Dysregulation
12 months or more, dx must be between 6 and 18, onset before age 10, anger and irritability, persistent.
Major Depressive Disorder
2 weeks; must have at least depressed mood or loss of desire or pleasure for the dx; irritability in children/adlolescents.
Major Depressive Disorder (cont’d) - partial vs. full remission
partial is <2 months, full is >2 months without symptoms that meet critera for the dx (after previous dx).
Persistent Depressive Mood (Dysthymia).
Depressed mood for most of the day, for more days than not…for at least 2 years.
Premenstrual dysphoric disorder
symptoms present for most menses of prior year
Substance/medication induced depressive disorder
No duration req’d; Depressed mood during or soon after substance intoxication or withdrawal or after exposure to a medication.
Depressive Disorder due to another medical condition
No duration req’d; evidence that a depressed mood is directly related to a medical condition (such as hypothyroidism).
