Q

Human Validation Process: Themes

A

Satir
Classical, humanistic

  • Want to be whole, authentic.
  • Various things in life block these tendencies. Genuine care/acceptance from therapy helps overcome that.
  • Warmth, genuineness, congruent communication
  • Self-esteem/worth - primary source of fulfillment. Most significant factor in family.

Self-esteem is the pot. Family dysfunction is an empty pot. Healthy families are a full pot. Communication is the gauge where we can see the pot level.

Self, other, context.
Use of touch.

4 Assumptions

1) People move toward growth.
2) All people have resource for positive growth.
3) We are impacted by and impact everything.
4) Therapy is process between therapist/client - ea. person responsible for themselves.
