Sanctification Flashcards
We must first be cleansed in the heart
Matthew 23:26
Matthew 23:26 NKJV
[26] Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also.
Sanctification for bigger use of God
2 Timothy 2:20
2 Timothy 2:20-21 NKJV
[20] But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. [21] Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.
Refine the “levites” (New Testament Christians by the Holy Spirit)
Malachi 3:3 NKJV
[3] He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, And purge them as gold and silver, That they may offer to the LORD An offering in righteousness.
Purification by removal of dross
Isaiah 1:25-26
Isaiah 1:25-26 NKJV
[25] I will turn My hand against you, And thoroughly purge away your dross, And take away all your alloy. [26] I will restore your judges as at the first, And your counselors as at the beginning. Afterward you shall be called the city of righteousness, the faithful city.”
Purifications through tests and trials
1 Peter 1:6-7
1 Peter 1:6-7 NKJV
[6] In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, [7] that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,
Refined through tests of affliction
Isaiah 48:10-11
Isaiah 48:10-11 NKJV
[10] Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. [11] For My own sake, for My own sake, I will do it; For how should My name be profaned? And I will not give My glory to another.
By taking heed of His Word
Psalm 119:9
Psalm 119:9 NKJV
[9] How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.
By hiding His Word in our hearts
Psalm 119:11
Psalm 119:11 NKJV
[11] Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.
