Where is the sacrum located
Triangular shaped bone at the bottom of the spine in-between the two os coxa
Where is the auricular surface
Flat smooth surfaces on each side
What is the pelvic surface
This is the curved interior surface
Where is the promontory
This is the top ring or ridge of bone
Where is the alae
This is the flared top part of the sacrum
Where are the superior articular processes
These are on the back of the sacrum and bits of bone that point out and up
Where is the sacral crest
This is the line/ spine along the back (posterior) part of the sacrum
Where are the spinous tubercles
These are the lumps of bone along the sacral crest
Where is the sacral canal
Tunnel from the top that goes down the back of the sacrum
Where are the sacral foramina
These are the hole along the surface
Where is the sacral hiatus
This is the tunnel from the bottom of the sacrum which goes up the back
How would you orientate the sacrum
The auricular surfaces are lateral and medial, the anterior surface is smooth and curved in towards the body
