General notes.

Common in waste land, in hedgerows and roadside verges.
Often adjacent to water.
Perennial, deep tap root.
Seeds with toothed wing structures which can be distributed by wind, water and attachment to animals and machinery.
Can remain dormant for number of year..
Slightly poisonous to catttle (designated as ‘injurious weed’)
Milk of plant can cause mild dermatitis.
