FREQUENCY:

A

Give at age 2 and 4 months

Notes:

    • May give dose #1 as early as age 6 weeks
    • Do not begin series in infants older than age 14 weeks 6 days (3.75 months)
    • Give final dose no later than age 8 months 0 days

If prior vaccination included use of different or unknown brand(s), a total of 3 doses should be given up to 32 weeks

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

A

A) Demonstrated history of hypersensitivity to the vaccine or any component of the vaccine
B) History of uncorrected congenital malformation of the GI tract that would predispose the infant to intussusception
C) History of intussusception
D) History of Severe Combined Immunodeficiency Disease (SCID)

PRECAUTIONS:

A

A) Administration in infants suffering from acute diarrhea or vomiting should be delayed.
B) The tip caps of the prefilled oral applicators of diluent may contain natural rubber latex which may cause allergic reactions in latex‐sensitive individuals.
C) Cases of intussusception were observed in temporal association within 31 days following the first dose of Rotarix with a clustering of cases in the first 7 days
