A

Directly caused by Boston Tea Party. Closed Boston Port until tea was repaid, King could make legislature meetings anywhere and anytime, new quartering act, newer & harsher admiralty courts, King told French they could expand into the Ohio Valley if well behaved.

A

France resisted a formal alliance at first but Saratoga changed their minds in 1777. In 1778, trading rights were approved, France gave up its American claims and recognized US as an independent nation.
