Rhabdomyolysis Flashcards

1
Q

What is rhabdomyolysis?

Q

What is released by muscle cells undergoing apoptosis which can cause kidney injury?

A
  • Myoglobin(causingmyoglobinurea)
  • Potassium - the most immediately dangerous breakdown product as hyperkalaemia can cause arrhymias
  • Phosphate
  • Creatine kinase
