its own copies of RNA, and carries lots of reverse transcriptases

why is the reverse transcriptase needed
A
the reverse transcriptases are to synthesize the virus RNA into DNA to be incorporated into the cells genome

Why are virusses so hard to find a cure for?
A
Because mutations are constantly occurring due to the sloppy reverse transcriptase, the virus will change in one generation from what it was originally, making it immune and vulnerable to different things
