Q

How can research into effective treatment of mental health disorders positively impact the economy?

A

Understanding which treatments are most effective means that we can offer or encourage the absence individual to engage in such treatment e.g. CBT/drug therapy which will in turn increase their mood, reduce their stress, allowing them to return to work. In doing so they will be paying taxes, boosting the economy.

Q

How has research into the role of the father and practical applications of paternity leave lead to negative implications on the economy?

A

Fathers are now entitled to paid paternity leave shared with the mother which is government funded. If the father is out of work, that also requires the workplace to hire someone else to take on that workload whilst the father is on leave, negatively impacting the economy.
