The individual does into consider themselves as having a problem and doesnt want to change

Help the client to consider the benefits or need to change

The individual is THINKING about changing their behaviour. they are aware of the Pros and con’s of changing

What potential con might a client in the contemplation stage be considering?
Giving up will not be enjoyable
Withdrawal symptoms
Negative feelings will come back i.e. stress
