16
Q

Describe the menstrual phase

A

All reproductive related hormones are at lowest levels except FSH

17
Q

Describe the follicular phase

A

FSH and estrogen (starts to rebuild the uterine lining) will be elevated.
LH begins to rise

18
Q

Describe ovulation

A

Surge in LH triggers ovulation

19
Q

Describe the luteal phase

A

Estrogen and progesterone will be elevated to prepare for potential pregnancy. If pregnancy occurs they will stay elevated. If not, those hormones will drop and trigger the next menstrual cycle
