What are symptoms of Hepatitis A?
- High Fever
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Muscle Aches
- Right upper quadrant pain
There is no chronic state for Hep A
What is the incubation period for Hepatitis B?
50-180 days
What are the symptoms of Hepatitis B?
- Flu like symptoms
- fever
- anorexia
- body aches
- jaundice
Does become chronic and is highly contagious
What are the symptoms of Hepatitis C?
- Presents wtih GI symptoms
This is the most chronic and can lead to liver failure. There is no vaccine
What is the incubation period for Hepatitis B?
20-90 days
How is one infected with Hepatitis D?
Hep D requires Co-infection of Hep B. If you vaccinate against Hep B you protect yourself from Hep D as well.
If a patient comes to you and explains that they have pills at home and plan on taking the bottle tonight to end their life, you should do what?
