Location, Function, Characteristics
Location: mostly females
Function : controls different stages of the reproductive cycle and (in females) controls development of 2nd sex characteristics
Characteristics : Promotes normal bone development
Testosterone
Function, Important for
*Steroid hormone
Function : Controls development of male reproductive organs, 2nd sex characteristics, and sex drive
Important in : bone mass development, prevention of osteoporosis
Fertilization
When sperm and egg unite, then cell division occurs
Attachment
Embryo that has been through much cell division attaches self to uterus for further development
Embryotic Stage
Period when body parts and organs start to form
Fetal Stage
Period lasts until birth mainly time when body parts and organs start to mature
