Sperm and egg

What are the female reproductive organs?
Ovary, oviduct, uterus, cervix, vagina
What is the function of an ovary in the female system?
Produces eggs which contain female nucleus
What is function of the oviduct?
Where fertilisation occurs
What is the function of the uterus?
Where the embryo develops
What is the function of the cervix?
Ring of muscle, remains contracted during pregnancy
What is the function of a vagina?
Sperm are deposited here
What are the male reproductive organs?
Urethra, penis, sperm duct, testicle
What is the function of a testicle?
Sperm produced here and the sperm contain the male nucleus
What isthe function of a sperm duct?
Sperm travel along this tube from the testis to the urethra
What is the function of the urethra?
Tube through which sperm/urine leaves the body
