Infection starts in the urethr
Describe the morphology of Acute Pyelonephritis.
Multiple lesions on cortex with small yellow abscesses. Edema in interstitum.
What is the pathogenesis of Chronic Pyelonephritis?
Obstruction of the urinary tract.
Describe the morphology of Chronic Pyelonephritis.
Uneven scars on contracted kidney. WBCs in interstitum.
Describe the morphology of Cortical Adenoma
Papillary or tubular configuration
Describe the morphology of Oncoytoma.
Appears tan with central stellate scar region. Eosinophilc cytoplasm.
Describe the morphology of a Clear cell carcinoma
Solitary, large and demarcated at the poles; Associate with von Hippel-Lindau syndrome
Describe the morphology of papillary carcinoma
Multifocal; Cuboidal and columanr cells with eosinophilic cytoplasm. Associate with Polycystic disease.
