What is retribution?
A
Punishing someone for their acts by getting back at them. E.g. Giving a murderer the death penalty.

What does the Bible say about retribution?
A
“Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the LORD” Ephesians 5:6
This means that Christians should not take their own actions of vengeance, but leave it up to God to make the offender pay.

What is the opposite of retribution?
A
Forgiveness, sympathy, pity
