An agreement, promise, contract or deal.

That there is only one G-d.

To leave Ur and settle in new land.
What 3 promises did G-d make to Abram?
- The Promised Land/ Israel
- Many descendants “a great nation”
- God would bless Abram all families of the Earth.
What was an everlasting covenant between Man and God?
The Promised Land. God told Abraham that the land would belong to his descendants forever.
In return for his blessings, what did God tell Abraham to do?
…walk before Me and be perfect. (Genesis 17:1)
What was the physical symbol of this covenant?
Abraham was instructed to circumcise himself as well as all his male descendants.
What do Reform Jews not believe?
They don’t believe that G-d promised Israel to the Jewish people.
