What is Rosh Hashanah?
It’s a festival that is celebrated over 2 days to mark the start of the new Jewish year.
What happens during the 10 days?
The days begins with Rosh Hashanah and end with the Yom Kippur
What does God keep record of?
People’s good and bad deeds
What does God do on Rosh Hashanah?
He weighs up Jew’s good abs bad deeds, judges them and makes people’s fortune for them next year.
What can God’s judgments be influenced by?
By actions taken during the festival so Jews pray, do charity work and try to make up any harm or upset caused to others.
What happens the month before Rosh Hashanah?
A ram’s horn is blown daily in the Synagogue to announce the coming of the day of Judgment.
What are said all month?
Special prayers for forgiveness
What happens at the synagogue the next morning?
The Shofar is blown 100 times and the service is longer than usual with special prayers for the occasion.
