What is the difference between an impairment and a activity limation?
A
An impairment is a problem with body structure or function
eg. Missing leg
An activity limitation is an inability to perform ADLs
eg. Inability to speak or walk
Not all impairments cause activity limitations

What is a participation limitation?
A
A handicap on a patient determined not only by their impairment and disability, but the environment that they exist in
eg. Inability to return to work
