Explain Psoriasis
Symmetrical, elbow knee scalp hands nails etc. sharply demrcated, scaly, erythematous plaques
What other types of psoriasis can you get?
Guttate, Palmoplantar, nail disease, erythrodermic/widespread pustular - rare
What can happen to nails in psoriatic nail disease?
Onycholysis, nail pitting, dystrophy, subungal hyperkaratosis
What are treatments for vitamin D deficiency?
Calcipotriol (dovonex) ointment
Calcitriol (Silkis) ointment
What else can treat psoriasis?
coal tar, steroid ointments
What phototherapies are there
UVB and PUVA
What do retinoid treatments do?
reduce skin turnover
What immunosuppresion drugs are used?
Methotrexate

Disrupt lymphocytes

Benzoyl peroxide - karatolytic, antibacterial

What management is there for rosacae?

avoid topical steroids
