Which rash spreads centripetal and which centrifugal?

A

Chickenpox is centripetal - starts on face and scalp and trunk, most spots on centre of body

Smalllpox is centrifugal - most lesions on extremities

Betaherpes virus (closely related to HHV6)

CD4

T cells

Fever, rash, roseola, rarely febrile seizures

Suggested to be linked with dermatological lesions, and neurological complications including encephalitis
